Tanzania Acacia Hills SL28, bought in a year ago.
Even on arrival it carried a faded, papery note — something like cardboard — so it did not meet the standard we sell to, and it sat unroasted for a year.

We recently roasted a test batch in the shop and cupped it.
The malic and tartaric acidity is there, and so is the coriander note.
At the same time, to be straight with you: the papery, faded impression that bothered us at the start is still clearly present.
We are sending it as it is, without hiding that.

In the world of Japanese ceramics there is a long-standing way of looking at a piece
in which a crack or a marking that the maker never intended is not treated as a fault to be corrected, but tasted as the expression belonging to that one piece alone.
The name of this lot, KESHIKI, comes from there.
We think this cup, too, has a character that includes the part of it that is missing.
You could call it a sense close to wabi-sabi.
Whether it is good or not, we leave to your cup.
